Grand Rapids Speed Golf League

FOR RELEASE:  5-2-11
 Can Grand Rapids Golfers Break
 World Record For Speed Golf?
World record or not, it sure will be fun as Grand Rapids
golfers hit the links this summer for the areas only speed
golf league. For those seeking the world record, they will
have to beat Christopher Smith who in October 2005, shot
an amazing five-under-par 65 in 44 minutes and 6 seconds,
setting the lowest-ever speed golf score of 109.06
(golf score combined with the time it takes to play 18 holes).
His record was set at the 5,500-yard Jackson Park Golf Course
in south Chicago.
Grand Rapids Golfers will have their shot at training for the
record during the 6 week speed golf league held at The
Highlands Golf Club. Speed golfers can take a maximum of 6
clubs. They must carry their own bag (no carts). The league
starts June 1st and runs (literally) for six weeks.
“Maybe we should all be playing speed golf. After all, who has
time for a regular round of golf these days?” says local golf expert
and brain child of the speed golf league, Scott Seifferlein.
Scott Seifferlein is a speaker, author, golf coach and a darned good
guy to thousands of West Michigan golfers. To learn more about
